Emily She was my foster on and off for 9 months, so she was very accustomed to life in my tiny condo. She has always been a highly adaptable animal, but her self-esteem/confidence has increased...she knows she's home and she is different dog. Much more grounded and seems very happy. She continues to have some dog reactivity, but she has met my sister's 5 yo male pit, and things went better than I expected. She met my mom's 9 lb Shi Tzu months back and that went really well. It's just the two of us, but she does well with kids -they always express an interest in her while we are out on our walks. She's pretty indifferent to them - no reaction either way. She sits patiently while they gently pet her and ask lots of questions. She is the BEST dog and I have not regretted my decision for one second. I fall more and more in love with her every day. She has quite the fan club, because she is just so friendly/affectionate/starving for attention ;-) Everyone in my building loves the Duchess, and I rely on my village of friends and family to help with her care, as I am gone 11 hours a day. I've had a dear friend doggy sit with her over a weekend while I was out of town and they requested to be the first person I call next time. I really don't know what else to say...she is a bit spoiled and I enjoy spoiling her!!! Kind regards and thanks for all you do! |
