Foster Feedback:

11/14/15

We have so much to share about Janie.  Shortly after arriving to DITR, she visited the vet for what we expected to be routine check up, vaccinations and such.  However, it was confirmed that this sweet young lady was pregnant.  The puppies were born a few weeks later so she has been busy being a wonderful mom.  The little ones are now nearly old enough both Janie and her little one's are ready for their forever homes.

As we mentioned before, Janie is timid but truly could not be any sweeter.   She has no resource or food aggression, is kennel trained (although she would rather sleep on the bed at night), she has had potty accidents in the house but as long as a schedule is followed, she does very well

She has more confidence when she is around other dogs as they seem to show her how awesome being loved is and how new things aren't as scary as they seem at first.  She has formed a wonderful trusting bond with her foster mom and loves attention from the 8 year old boy in her foster home.  She is a bit more reserved with men but is doing wonderful and warms up much more quickly than she used to.

When she is feeling confident and calm she can't get enough belly rubs and ear scratches!   Did I mention she would love to cuddle up in bed?

It may take a little extra time to feel comfortable in her new forever home but every moment of patience, understanding, reassurance and love she is given will be rewarded with kisses, cuddles, and the sweetest girl you can imagine.  Beautiful lady Janie is ready to be a loved part of your family.  Please consider giving this diamond in the rough the love she so deserves.

If we had to describe Janie with just one word, it would be..... Sweet!

When she arrived to our home, she was very timid and scared, but in just a short week, she has gained confidence and is showing us her true personality.  She is playful and loves attention from her people.   She likes kids and is gentle with them.  She will run away from them if they yell loudly or move too quickly.  However, this has improved in the last few days too.   Janie gets along wonderfully with the 2 resident dogs and is learning that running and playing in the yard is ALOT of fun.  She enjoys chew toys, squeaky toys, belly rubs and laying in the sun.

We will begin working on some basic obedience this week and expect that she will be a quick learner.   She has had a couple potty accidents but she had recently been in an outdoor kennel  so we feel it is due to a change in environment and schedule and with consistency she will do great.   Janie also does well in her crate and uses it as a safe place to go if she gets nervous of something new.   She is quiet all night and greets us happily in the morning.

The ideal home for Janie will be one that will be patient and understanding of her potential need to experience new things slowly.  Praise and reassurance seem to be the key for her building confidence.  In return, she will be a fun, loving and loyal member of the family.

We are excited for Miss Janie to meet her furever family!!
