Foster Home Feedback:

We've had a few 'set-backs' with Tala this past week. We haven't been able to get out much due to the rainy, cold weather and she has taken it out on her kennel and my shoes. She escaped her kennel one day and destroyed 4 pairs of my shoes. We found a way to keep her in her kennel and she destroyed her bed :( While I would never consider Tala a high energy dog, she definitely loves to play and will need some sort of thorough exercise at least every few days.

We've also been working diligently on getting her acquainted with our cats. While she has never been aggressive, she is extremely interested and is very in their face. She has been living here for almost two months and her interest has not waned. If she goes to a home with a cat, the new parents will need to be diligent and never leave them unsupervised. I would also recommend a safe place that the cat can get away to and have some quiet time.

These are a few, small set-backs but we will continue to work with Tala and make her the best dog she can be!! We love her very much and her issues do not compare to all the love she gives and how well she does with everything else!

Have I mentioned how sweet Tala is? We absolutely adore her here! She still takes awhile to warm up to new people, and definitely does better with females versus males. Tala still hasn't had an accident in the house or her kennel. She spends days in her kennel and she has recently started sleeping in our room at night on a dog bed. Her worst 'habit' is stealing and chewing on shoes. We try and make sure she has enough other toys to occupy her and that has helped a lot. Tala is such a great dog and will make any family endlessly happy!

In Native American the meaning of the name Tala is 'a deep inner desire for love and companionship'. This name fits her perfectly. Tala is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met! She is a little shy when first meeting someone but her tail starts wagging soon after. Tala gets along with every other dog she has met and really enjoys their company! She is kenneled trained with only minor whining, and she is also potty trained. Tala loves cuddling and relaxing on the couch with you. She has a medium energy level. She likes to play with my dogs, but is also equally content having a lazy day. Tala has spent the last two months being an attentive mother and it's now her time to have some freedom and just enjoy being a dog! :)
