Lainey is the sweetest girl!  She has been great in our house the last two days.  No accidents or aggression towards any of our other dogs.  She is very excited to meet new people and is in their lap wanting love as soon as they walk through the door. She kennels nicely and will eat her food in her kennel.  She loves to go for walks and to play outside.  She really enjoys toys and will entertain herself throwing them around and chasing after them.  She listens very intently and follows commands such as NO and LEAVE IT.  She likes treats and will patiently wait her turn to receive them.  She does bark some when we first get home or when the doorbell rings, but we tell her NO BARK and she is catching on to this as well.  She was slightly concerned and barked at my boyfriend when he was making funny noises and trying to hug me, almost like she thought he was hurting me, but she did not show aggression, only barking and curiosity.

Lainey is a wonderful, sweet dog who would make a great part of any household!!

HELLO! My name is Lainey. I'm new here.  These nice folks at DITR sprung me from the pound the other day, and boy did they roll out the red carpet.  They gave me a warm bath, and then I got a nice soft bed in a secure kennel, blankets to burrow under, and all the food I desire.  Those blankets are awesome to me, because I LOVE to burrow under them. I also love to cuddle with any person who might be using a blanket at the time.  As for food, well, who doesn't love food. I could definitely use some groceries, because I am a bit on the skinny side.  A regular schedule of square meals should fix that right up, though.  While we're talking about food, I should also tell you that I'm a little protective of it if there is another dog nearby, so I should be supervised if I'm eating or chewing a bone.  My foster family said they'll work with me on that, though, so I'll let you know how that goes. I've only just arrived to my foster home, but so far I am doing well and don't seem to mind the bigger dogs, or the one who is smaller than me.  I heard Foster Mom say she thinks I'm potty trained, but I did pee on the hall carpet when I first got here because I was nervous. No accidents in my kennel, though! A gold star for me. As for my stature, I probably weigh about 20 pounds right now.  I'm long and lean, and I might be a dachshund-mix, but I am a bit leggier than most, and I'll jump right up on the bed to snuggle at night, or curl up on the couch with you anytime.  Won't you let me jump right into your heart, too?
