Foster Update: This beautiful boy, with his unique stripes and leopard-looking spots, is such a sweet guy whose purr and newfound love to be pet and scratched on the head has earned him lots of extra human time. Julian has come a long way since first entering rescue and is sure to add so much love and happiness to his furever home! He's become more confident with humans (though he will need to be allowed time to regain this confidence in a new home) and does great with other cats. Julian has also been around a few dogs and does okay with them as well. He's more comfortable with smaller and less active canine friends than larger, more active or vocal ones, but can manage around them, too. Julian is likely to well as an only cat or with furmates. He is such a great guy who will undoubtedly bring so much love and happiness to his new family!
Foster Update: Julian is a calm, quiet kitty with a preference towards spending much of his day curled up in one of the cat trees and snoozing the day away. This handsome big boy with beautiful markings seems to enjoy a low-key environment and alone time, though he does also welcome a sibling's snuggles. He would very likely do well as an only cat/pet or with furmates that will respect his space. Julian initially shies away from humans but once picked up and cuddled, starts immediately purring. There's a good possibility that once in his furever home with a family he can learn to trust, Julian's playful side will once again emerge. J ulian and his litter mates were born under the deck of a very kind, caring couple's house. The kittens and their mama survived by finding shelter under the deck and receiving fresh water and food from the sweet owners until they were old enough to be weened and caught. Unfortunately Covid hit right about the time the kittens were old enough, delaying their capture until later than ideal. Once caught, they were surrendered to our rescue in hopes of finding safe, loving, furever homes. (Managing to escape capture for nearly a year now, this is mama cat’s 2nd litter.) Looking at Julian next to his litter mates, you wouldn’t think they were born on the same day. This BIG boy outweighs his “twin” sister, Caesara, by over two pounds. He is such a handsome boy with the most pretty and unique markings. Julian spends much of his day cuddling with one of his brothers and his nights playing with his siblings. Due to his age when captured and surrendered, Julian is still a bit unsure of people. He needs a furever family with patience as he continues to learn to trust humans and he would greatly benefit from being adopted with one of his siblings who he can find comfort with. (When adopted together, the second adoption is half price, making the adoption fee for two kittens only $135!). ~~ Trivial tidbit: Born on Leap Day, Julian was named after Julius Caesar, known for introducing the Julian Calendar that added Leap Day. ** Julian has been using the litter box with no issues. He's had a wellness exam, vaccinations, and has been FIV/FeLV tested. Julian is neutered and microchipped (lifetime enrollment).
