Foster Update: Ivy has had the opportunity to roam the foster home with the resident cats and has done well with them. She's also been able to experience a few K-9 visits and does okay; small dogs that leave her alone are no problem, but large dogs that want to play tend to scare her a bit. Ivy's still a little leery of humans when approached but does tolerate her "forced love" sessions. She loves watching out the windows and patio doors and playing with her kitty toys and feline brothers. Though Ivy might be fine as an only cat, she would likely enjoy a feline playmate. She's an active and mischievous little kitty who can be very smart when it comes to getting what she wants or satisfying her curiosity. This beauty is sure to keep you on your toes and provide hours of entertainment. Ivy and her litter mates were born under the deck of a very kind, caring couple's house. The kittens and their mama survived by finding shelter under the deck and receiving fresh water and food from the sweet owners until they were old enough to be weened and caught. Unfortunately Covid hit right about the time the kittens were old enough, delaying their capture until later than ideal. Once caught, they were surrendered to our rescue in hopes of finding safe, loving, furever homes. (Managing to escape capture for nearly a year now, this is mama cat’s 2 nd litter.) Due to her age when captured and surrendered, Ivy is still a bit cautious of people. She loves to watch out the window and play with toys and her siblings. Ivy is the mischievous one of the bunch and seems to find something new to investigate daily. She is still learning to trust her human and would benefit from being adopted with one of her siblings, where the two can find comfort in each other while they continue learning to trust people. (When adopted together, the second adoption is half price, making the adoption fee for two kittens only $135!). ~~ Trivial tidbit: Born on Leap Day, Ivy’s name comes from the roman numerals IV. ** Ivy has been using the litter box with no issues. She's had a wellness exam and vaccinations and has been FIV/FeLV tested.
