2/12/2020 Foster Update: This sweet little gal is the last of her litter to find a furever home. She is so sweet and likes to cuddle up next to you at bedtime or hang out under a blanket while you relax on the couch. She's well-behaved and quiet but will bring you joy and laughter through her love, play, and silly bathtub antics. Sunflower seems to think an empty tub is her playground and a running shower or faucet is for her entertainment. She not only likes playing with her toys, especially the little mice, but also enjoys playing in her water bowl on occasion too. Sunflower does well with other cats and would benefit from having at least one other feline friend to play with. She's scared of new people and loud commotions so she'd do best in a quiet home without young children or lots of people coming and going. It will likely take Sunflower a while to feel comfortable with her new humans but once she does, she has no hesitations about showing you her love and gratitude through cuddles, snuggles, and quiet meows for attention. This little love bug is sure to warm your heart and home! Sunflower and her litter mates were born under the deck of a very kind, caring couple's house. Their mama survived the winter by finding shelter under the deck and receiving fresh water and food from the sweet owners. The care continued following the litter's birth until they were old enough to be weened off mama and able to be caught, when they were surrendered to our rescue in hopes of finding safe, loving, furever homes. It took Sunflower a little time to start learning to trust humans, but she was one of the quicker ones of the bunch to be handled by her human foster momma. She's a curious little gal who enjoys watching out the window and playing--with her toys and the other kitties in the home. Sunflower seems to think that bathtubs are really just feline playgrounds. Even when filled, she enjoys standing on the ledge and playing with the water. Sunflower loves snuggling under a blanket and is a great little cuddler!! Because of the months spent living with very little human interaction, it takes time for Sunflower to warm up to new people and feel comfortable around them. She startles a bit easy with new sounds or loud noises and would therefore be more comfortable in a home without a lot of noise or chaos. It would be best if Sunflower could be adopted with her sister, Marigold. ( When adopted together the second adoption is half price, making the adoption fee for these beautiful besties only $135!) ** Sunflower has been using the litter box with no issues. She's had a wellness exam and vaccinations and has been FIV/FeLV tested. Prior to her adoption, Sunflower will also be spayed and microchipped (lifetime enrollment).
