Copper is a 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix who is looking to exchange his dress shoes for a pair of cowboy boots and head into the country!  He is a big happy boy, I'm guessing around 60 lbs, who enjoys being outside and running.  His manners are wonderful for a dog of his size.  He is completely house trained and goes to the door when he needs to be let outside.  Copper is also kennel trained, though he would rather be hanging out with his people, he kennels up with a treat and settles right in.  

Copper wants very much to snuggle and play with his humans, but is content to lay around and chew on antlers. Copper is highly trained and has been through several obedience courses, including Sit Means Sit in Minneapolis; he knows sit, off, heel, place, and many other commands.  We are continually impressed with how smart he is!  He loves playing with toys and going for walks.. he does great on a leash and even off-leash with verbal commands.  

He does well with other dogs, although he prefers more mellow/laid back dogs rather than very high energy pups.  He should also be in a household with no small children due to his size and herding tendencies.  This is a tough rehoming; but his family has realized that Copper will be happiest living in the country, not the city, and think he would do best on a farm or ranch where he has room to run freely and can let his true personality shine.  If you are interested in learning more about Copper please fill out an application!
