Jasper

We have had Smokey (previously Jasper) for 2 months and it has been amazing. Tanner and I talk about how amazing of a dog he is every single day. He listens to stay, sit, drop, lay down, and many other commands. He also goes into his kennel with and without being asked. Another great thing about Smokey is that he won't go on furniture unless we ask him to sit with us.He loves to be right by our sides and to see what we are doing. Smokey loves to play with his toys in our fenced in back yard, and also pushing them down the stairs in the house and chasing them on there way down. Smokey also loves to play with other dogs, and has met some new friends who he enjoys having play dates with. I have a nephew who just turned 1 year old the day after Smokey, and Smokey is completely intent on watching over him. Smokey will follow him around all day to make sure he is safe, and will allow my nephew to crawl all over him and play with his toys. They are best buds :) Our little family would not be complete without Smokey, and we don't know what we would do without him. He is so perfect, and we think he is the best dog ever! For being 1 year old, he is super calm and listens very well. We are so thankful for Diamond in the Ruff and everything that the organization does that has allowed us to welcome Smokey into our lives. We love him SOOOOO MUCH!!! Cassie, Tanner, and Smokey

Jake
Jake

As you know, we met 'Gus' in Fargo on July 3rd. He was able to come home with us that day, and we must say he has been a perfect fit. We changed his name from Jake to Gus because our daughter had a chocolate lab named Jake. He learned his name quickly, and his adjustment to his new home and surroundings has been quick and easy, too. We live on a small acreage near Watertown, SD. Although Gus lives in our home with us, he loves to be outside with me exploring the area. We have no other pets, but our neighbors do. He has become good friends with the neighbor's dogs and cats. Gus just loves everyone and every animal. He's even having a 'through the fence' bromance with a 1200 pound steer next door. Both Gus and the steer meet at the fence, stick their noses through the fence and lick each other. When we adopted Gus, he was very thin. His foster family indicated that he was a stray. Gus eats well - we feed him 'Call of the Wild' dog food. He has gained weight, has a shinny coat and is healthy in every way. We had an appointment with our veterinarian for a thorough check-up and Gus is doing well. No one knows for sure how old Gus is - we think he's a mature boy. We decided he should be 5 years old with his birthday on July 3rd - the day he came home with us! Gus is the perfect pet. He knows all his commands, is completely house-broken, is extremely gentle with adults, children and other animals. He has displayed no aggressive behaviors. He likes to be near us all the time. When we're in the family room - so is Gus. When we're making dinner, Gus is in the kitchen, too. When Carol is in her office, Gus is curled up under her desk (quite a sight for a nearly 100 pound lab) or lying by her chair. Gus goes where we go. This past weekend we visited friends at their cabin near Fergus Falls, MN. Gus loved the trip, loved the cabin, and loved the extra attention. In short - we love our chocolate lab, Gus. We are so fortunate that we met Gus through Diamond in the Ruff. We also appreciate how thorough your adoption process is. These rescue pets deserve loving caring homes. Thank you for allowing us to be part of Diamond in the Ruff adoptions. We love our dog! Sincerely, Ron & Carol Bergan

John Smith

We adopted two sibling kitties - Memphis and John Smith. So far they have fit very well into our family and have a LOT of fun with each other. They came from different foster homes but warmed up to each other very quickly and can often be found sleeping very close to, or literally on top of each other. They have great personalities and love to play! The kids are having so much fun with them! The kitties are very curious about everything we do and we keep finding them in funny spots - laundry baskets, the top of the bunk beds, in the bathtub, etc. The also love to snuggle a lot and will come sit on whatever you are doing to get the attention they want, much to the amusement of the children. Adopting the kittens has been a wonderful experience and a great addition to our family. Thank you DITR!

Janie
Janie

Janie is slowly getting used to us and our home. She seems to know what places are ok for her to be. It has taken awhile, but I think she is finally starting to like us. I realize it all takes time but it truly is rewarding. Thanks for the experience in pet rescuing, Matt Spieker

Jackson

We LOVE Jackson!!! I've attached some photos for you to see. We have a 6 year old (Jayden) who also really loves Jackson. We let him out in the back yard to play, and sometimes, we will travel to the Farm, where we let him run around with the other farm dogs we have there. Being he is white, he always needs a bath after visiting the farm. Run runs around with the other dogs who are Black Labs and gets all covered in dirt, and mud. He still has some getting used to the car rides from place to place, but he is starting to get used to them. Last Sunday, Jackson ran around for hours straight at the farm with the other dogs there, and when we returned home to Moorhead around 6:00 that afternoon, I gave him a bath, and wrapped him up in the John Deere blanket in the picture. He was so tired out, he couldn't move from his bed all night. He likes to lay at the top of our steps and wait for us if we have been outside for a little bit. During the car ride to and from the farm, Jackson had to sit on Jayden's lap. I think Jackson was a bit nervous to ride in the car, and Jackson needed to cuddle with Jayden to feel better. For Halloween, we bought Jackson a sweater with a pirate on it. He wore this out trick-or-treating with us. The other dog in the picture is Roscoe. We were dog-sitting him for a couple days. We love Jackson, and he has become a part of our family!! Thank you, Elizabeth
