Foster Feedback

Scout came into the rescue at 9 days old.  His mother was not taking care of the litter and all of his siblings passed away.  He was cold, dehydrated and starving but we were able to help him survive.  He has not had any siblings to cuddle, wrestle and socialize with so he does think humans are a play toy right now.  We hope that he will get better about that as he matures but for now he would only work with a family who has older children and adults to continue to teach him the difference between toys and humans.  He has played with the resident 1 year old cat so he does do well with other playful cats but she only has patience for his crazy for a little while then she retreats.  :)

Scout is a very inquisitive, rambunctious, playful, comical little kitten.  He is used to being handled so you can pretty much do anything with him but you can expect him to think you are playing with him so he treats you like a kitten sibling.  He loves to hide in boxes and climb on cat tree’s.  He also loves playing with jingle balls in the bathtub.  He has a sock addiction that we have created.  Sorry in advance.  LOL.  He is living in our bathroom and when we are trying to be in there to get ready we tend to throw socks for him to play with as a distraction so we can finish our bathroom duties. He is a hoot!  He has also discovered that Qtips are super fun.  So that is also a distraction technique we have used.

When he is out in the rest of the house he is around adult cats and large dogs.  He does fine with all of them. He has grown up with them around him and one of the dogs even mothered him when he was tiny.  He went through a stage where he figured out that he could do the arched back, sideways, scardey cat pose.  It was hilarious because he thought he needed to do it to everything and everyone.  We have a photo of the cuteness included below.  We have also included the photo’s from his 1st day with us and others as he grew older.

Scout has received a wellness exam and has tested FIV/Feluk negative.  He has started his kitten vaccine boosters and will be finished with them by the time he is neutered.  He will be neutered, microchipped (which includes a lifetime enrollment with AKC Reunite) and ready to be adopted by May 24rd.  Please apply for Scout if you would like to meet him and see if he is the one for you!
